Also, look for vegetables such as pepper which are loaded with antioxidants. Vegetables are a good source of vitamins which protect the body from diseases.
Fruits and their juices are another type of food to include in your diet. However, look for foods which are lower in the glycemic index. These fruits have little effect on blood sugar compared to those which are higher in the glycemic index. However, fruits in general are good anti aging foods.
Nuts and seeds are another food you can include in your diet. These are an alternative source of protein for vegetarians. Proteins are very important in your anti aging diet since they are the main nutrient used in the repair and growth of new body cells. If you have a low supply of protein, then you run the risk of having worn out tissue which is one characteristic of aging.
You should not forget to put in some animal proteins. These are the richest source of protein and also some vitamins and minerals. Have some protein in every meal you take.
Water, although not considered a food is also important in every meal. Ensure you take in substantial amounts of water each day. Water helps to keep the body hydrated and also helps in the removal f wastes form the body.
